    This wheel is Rotaract, it's Interact & Peace Scholars too. It's Youth Exchange & RYLA & the Rotary Foundation & it's Vocational Training Teams & the Community Corp. It's also Polio Plus and everything we put it's name to.

    It's also the 1.2 million members worldwide!!

    We have many programs & projects, with lots of names & many faces that are seen in so many places.

    But the one thing that unites us is that is that WE are ALL Rotary!!!

    The Rotary Club of Phnom Penh (RCPP) is proud to have entered in a partnership agreement with two Cambodian organisations — namely Sala Traju Association (Sala Traju) and Sethavitou Notary Public of the Kingdom of Cambodia (Sethavitou Notary Public). The three partners will now work jointly on the organisation of an essay-writing contest for Cambodian higher education students.

    The central theme proposed to students will be Ethics — in alignment with the Rotary International’s official mission that is “to provide service to others, to promote high ethical standards, and to advance world understanding, goodwill, and peace through its fellowship of business, professional, and community leaders”.

    Through this essay-writing contest RCPP, Sala Traju and Sethavitou Notary Public seek the following objectives:
    (a) Promote ethics concepts, case studies, and good practices within the society segment of today’s higher education students — who will become tomorrow’s business owners, professionals and community leaders;
    (b) Support Cambodia’s higher education ongoing efforts for strengthening and supplying important skills such as research skills, critical thinking, production of an original work, respect of third-party intellectual property, and high-standard business writing;
    (c) Grant awardees with public speaking or publishing opportunities;
    (d) Provide valuable guidance to every contest entrant.

    Please pass on the details and tag and students that might be interested in submitting an essay. The initial submission can be in English, Khmer or French!

    We took our booth to the CIA FIRST International School Family Day today. We had good interest from kids and parents plus some staff members that may join the Club. Two highlights of the day. The first was seeing pupils paying to throw wet sponges at the School Director André Struve. Well done Interact Club of CIA FIRST International School for organising. But the top highlight was the three youngsters who stopped at our booth, leafed through The MEC Project book and donated $9.25 to the project. This is Cambodia's future in the making!! Thanks also to Gerard Ruby, Yim Sreymom and Michael Wright for helping out. ...

    In recognition of International Human Rights Day, yesterday the Rotary Club of Phnom Penh teamed up with the community service Muslim Club of Phnom Penh to distribute 280 mosquito nets to a Cham fishing village near the Sokha Hotel. Most of these families live on their boats with little protection or comfort and they were happy to receive this small token that will improve their lives (and their health)!. Michael Wright, Lavinia Page, Larry Chambers and Sandy Kotan led the charge from the RCPP, Sovanara Sales from the Muslim Club, and we were honoured to be joined by Mr. Chin Bunthoeurn, Leader of Prime Minister's Secretary and Chief of Love Peace Federation of Phnom Penh. A few weeks ago we posted an appeal for information about flood victims in Cambodia. A lead came in about significant flooding in Banteay Meanchey. We followed it up and made contact with the Commune chief and the local Red Cross representative. This week we trucked over 90 Aquaboxes and other shelter equipment to the Commune close to the Thai boarder near Poipet. After a short training session the boxes were unloaded to very grateful families. Some of them had returned to their ruined homes but were still without a good supply of drinking water, mosquito nets etc. Many were still displaced. A big thank you to Rotary Club of Eltham in Australia for providing the boxes. ...

    The Rotary Club of Phnom Penh is holding its 5th annual charity auction on January 19th, 2018, and we are seeking sponsorship for our event.

    Our event will expose your company to approximately 150 Cambodians and expatriates who actively support a variety of community service projects in the Kingdom, many of whom own local businesses.

    Rotary is a worldwide community service organization with over 1.2 million members, working in over 200 countries. The Rotary Club of Phnom Penh directly impacts Cambodia in the areas of health, education and community development with the following projects:

    Meningoencephalocoele (MEC) Outreach - MEC is rare a birth defect found in remote villages in Cambodia. At birth the skull fails to close which causes the child’s brain to herniate through the opening near the bridge of the nose. Rotary identifies and supports the children and families affected with this condition so that they can receive surgery necessary to correct this condition; all completely free of charge to the family.

    The Emergency Relief & Response Project – Our Aqua Boxes are distributed to families displaced by flooding (or other natural disasters) that provide a temporary shelter, sleeping and cooking gear and a water purification system.

    Early childhood literacy – our newest project provides books with a selection of over 60 titles (including a bookshelf) aimed at early readers from 5-10 years old into underserviced Cambodian classrooms. The books are written in both the Khmer and English language and it our intent to instill curiosity, empathy and a lifelong love of reading into young learners.

    Mosquito net distribution – over 2,500 mosquito nets have been distributed to families in remote villages.
    Other ongoing projects include:

    Female hygiene kits
    Wheelchairs for kids
    Water wells and latrines in deprived villages

    100% of the proceeds of this auction will go directly to supporting our community projects. Visit our web page www.rotaryclubpp.org to learn more!

    Events like our auction and the community projects that we deliver need your support to continue. Please consider becoming a sponsor. If you have any questions please email auction@rotaryclubpp.org.
